Albanian-born artist Anila Jaho holds a Master of Fine Arts in Computer Arts and 3D Animation from the School of Visual Arts in New York City since 2012. Unity Certified 3D Artist, Anila specializes primarily in 2D and 3D motion graphics and animation, Film and Compositing.
Faced with limited choices in impoverished post-communist Albania, Anila completed University and legal studies before making the long and challenging trek into Greece, where she pursued her artistic aspirations. In Greece, she participated in exhibitions and eventually formed successful relationships with several Athenian art galleries. This experience resulted in her studying Painting and Printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
A classic example of jumping from painting to photography and reinventing oneself, her photography work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. In her self-love series, her emphases are visual metaphors of identity examining human subliminal behavior, which contrasts with experienced reality. Donald Kuspit commented on her photography work: "Avant-gardism is over, and a new humanistic art of emotional depth is desperately needed."
Always searching for new ways for artistic expression, her skills expanded into Computer Arts and Animation. Her 3D animation, Drawing of Mom, made it into the final round in the 2012 Taiwan International Student Competition "Transform" and is also included in the best-selected works of the School of Visual Arts, MFA Computer Art 2012.
Anila's Vine animation, 'Lamb Creation', was selected and featured as the finalist of the Tribeca Film Festival, TFF 2013:
